Goku didn’t use the instant transmission technique because Instant Transmission requires a ki signature to holm in on which he couldn’t sense. Goku could have beaten Majin Buu at Super Saiyan 3, but he didn’t because he figured that he’s dead and shouldn’t even be on Earth so he wants Goten Gohan and Trunks to beat Buu to succeed him. It’s an honor thing. Not only that, SSJ3, is an extreme amount of power, if he kept fighting and beat Buu he’d be drained.

He couldn’t do the “isntant techniq” because Bulma’s parents have very low energy and he can’t sense them very well so he can’t use that techinq… Goku is cool, and it wouldn’t be fun if everybody survives and Goku always saves everybody! it kinds of stupid that let Trunks goes to get dragon ball radar. Goku is became a jerk after defeated Frieza, he should has do the instant techniq to get Bulma’s parents instead of let TRunks flies all the way.
